Serums for sensitive skin
We are reviewing treatment and hydrating serums for sensitive, reactive skin, with attention to active choice, formula balance, layering, packaging and practical UK availability.

What we prioritise
A serum should earn its place through a clear job and a formula that sensitive skin can use consistently. More actives, higher percentages and longer claims lists are not automatically better.
Clear purpose
We look for a defined role such as hydration, antioxidant defence, tone, texture or clarifying support rather than a crowded formula trying to promise everything at once.
Sensible active intensity
Concentration and active form should make sense for reactive skin. A serum that can be used steadily is usually more useful than a stronger formula that repeatedly disrupts comfort.
Supportive base
Humectants and soothing ingredients can improve wear and tolerance, but they do not cancel out an unnecessarily aggressive active blend or a sensitising base.
Routine fit
We consider how a serum layers and when it is used, because stacking several otherwise reasonable actives can make a sensitive-skin routine needlessly difficult.
Ingredients we look for
These are examples rather than a required checklist. Niacinamide and the Vitamin C Defence System are foundational active signals, while more targeted actives and hydration-comfort ingredients should match the serum’s stated purpose and the needs of the full routine.
