The Inkey List Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser
Shea butter cream with glycerin and Ceramide NP.
Quick verdict
Shea butter comes third, straight after water and glycerin, which puts it higher than in any other moisturiser in our selection. Emollient esters, triglycerides and a silicone follow, so this is a cream built mainly around softening ingredients.

Why it made the cut
'Bio-Active Ceramide' is The Inkey List's term. The ingredient list names one ceramide, Ceramide NP, in 14th place. Its position does not tell us its exact concentration or how the finished cream compares with another ceramide formula. If you want ceramides alongside cholesterol and phytosphingosine, CeraVe Moisturising Cream carries three ceramides with both.
The emulsifiers are cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate, and the brand describes a rich cream for morning or night. At £18–£22 for 50ml, it sits in the lower half of our moisturiser price range. Our guide to choosing a moisturiser explains how to match a cream like this to your skin.
